Bicyclist dies in Durham hit-and-run; police search for vehicle

— Durham police are looking for a car involved in an accident in which a bicyclist was struck and killed Monday evening in the 1700 block of Hillandale Road.

The male victim was struck from behind at 8:57 p.m. while traveling north on Hillandale Road, according to a news release from police. He was later pronounced dead at Duke Hospital.

Witnesses reported seeing a dark colored, possibly burgundy, late 1990's or early 2000 model sedan brake suddenly and swerve before continuing north on Hillandale, police said.
