Police investigating report that train might have hit person in Raleigh

— Police are searching along railroad tracks near Hillsborough Street in the vicinity of Interstate 440 Friday evening after receiving a report that a train might have struck a person.

The call for assistance came at approximately 8:40 p.m., but at 10 p.m. the searchers still had not located any injured individual, according to police spokesman Jim Sughrue.

Sughrue said the search efforts are still underway.
