4-H club members’ horse knowledge wins top honors

The Hunting Ridge 4-H Club of Wake County won first place in the N.C. State Hippology Contest in Greensboro.

The contest, held in conjunction with the State Horse Bowl competition, tests participants’ knowledge of equine science, judging and the horse industry in general.

A Hunting Ridge team consisting of Chloe Pacyna, Courtney Barth, Katrina Barth, Olivia Glass and Sarah Morgan won third place in the Horse Bowl, a quiz-bowl style contest.

The Hunting Ridge junior team (13 and under) placed fourth in the Horse Bowl, and team captain Scout Biggs came in first in the individual competition. Other team members were Emily Grace Swinson, Mackenzie Ashe, Remy Deitelbaum and Gerilyn Maselli.
