GARNER — Country music star Scotty McCreery is being sued by a former manager.
According to the Nashville Post, Todd Cassetty is suing McCreery for failing to pay for his services. The lawsuit says McCreery agreed to pay Cassetty 15 percent of his gross revenues, the industry standard, but later backed down from that amount.
In a statement, McCreery said there is no truth to the allegations.
I have offered to pay Todd more than once, but he wanted an unreasonable amount for only five months of work, McCreery said. He goes on to say the lawsuit is an attempt to embarrass him and his family and that the facts will come out in court.
The lawsuit was filed July 3 in Nashville, Tenn. The defendants are Scotty McCreery, his company Blue Crew Productions Inc., and his mom.
