Keith Houck: Hitting bottom

Hitting bottom

Regarding the July 16 article “GOP agrees on state tax plan”: I found the accompanying picture of our grinning governor and House and Senate leaders, ecstatic over a tax code agreement that leaves our state with $2.4 billion less revenue over the next five years, particularly ironic coming on the same day I saw a chart indicating N.C. teachers ranked 51st among the states plus the District of Columbia in change in pay over the last 10 years.

I guess our state leaders are not concerned they can drive us any lower in the rankings.
