Apex police charge woman stole two dogs and pickup truck

From staff reportsJuly 24, 2013

— An Apex woman was charged Tuesday night with stealing another woman's two dogs and the woman's pickup truck as well as driving while impaired, arrest warrants said.

Apex police did not say any harm came to the dog’s, a border collie and a beagle.

They charged Tamara Ann Spahr, 36, of 3416 Friendship Road, after bringing her to police headquarters for questioning following her arrest at about 8 p.m.

The dog-larceny charges are felonies, as is the one covering theft of a motor vehicle.

Driving while impaired and failure to comply with restrictions on her driver’s license were misdemeanor charges.

Spahr, who told booking officers she is a student at Wake Technical Community College, was being held at the Wake County Detention Center in lieu of $30,000 bail and was scheduled for a court appearance Wednesday.
