Wake deputies arrest Raleigh man on cocaine-trafficking charges

From staff reportsJuly 31, 2013

— Wake County deputies, who have been running an ongoing investigating into cocaine trafficking, arrested a man Tuesday night and charged him with numerous possession and trafficking counts dating to July 2012.

Some of the arrest warrants for Luis Gilberto Centeno, 45, of 316 Roselle Court in Raleigh cite drug sales to the same undercover officer listed by a number in other recent cocaine arrests by deputies.

Centeno was picked up when deputies stopped his car at Foxhall Village and Buffaloe roads about 8 p.m.

Charges in the warrants begin with maintaining a white work van as a drug vehicle on July 6, 2012, and end May 24 with four counts of cocaine trafficking involving between 28 and 200 grams of the drug.

In addition to sales to the undercover officer, deputies alleged that Centeno sold cocaine to a confidential informant.

Centeno was being held Wednesday in lieu of $650,000 bail on the four counts of trafficking, three counts of possession, three counts of selling, three counts of delivering and maintaining the truck.

They cover five dates, and law enforcement agencies usually lodge several charges based on the same evidence.
