Saltwater

Oregon Inlet

Offshore, w ahoo, dolphin and yellowfin tuna are biting, along with b illfish releases. Inshore boats are still reporting good Spanish mackerel, triggerfish and speckled trout bites. Contact: Oregon Inlet Fishing Center 252-441-6301, www.oregon-inlet.com.

Buxton/Hatteras

Offshore boats brought in wahoo, dolphin, yellowfin tuna and billfish. Nearshore, spots and speckled trout were caught. Surf, drum and blues were reported. Ocracoke/Portsmouth

Puppy drum, black drum , blues and sea mullet are biting in the surf. Inshore boats brought in speckled trout and flounder. Offshore, wah oo, king mackerel, yellowfin and triggerfish are biting. Contact: Tradewinds Bait & Tackle, 252-928-5491, fishtradewinds.com.

Cape Lookout/Bogue Inlet

Offshore boats brought in ye llowfin, wahoo, dolphin and king mackerel. F lounder and drum are still biting near the point. Inshore anglers brought in drum and speckled trout. Contact: EJW Outdoors at 252-247-4725; ncwaterman.com; or ncoif.com.

Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach

Red drum, speckled trout and flounder have been caught inshore. Offshore, dolphin, sailfish, sea bass and bottom fish are still biting. Contact: Tex’s Tackle, 910-791-1763, texstackle.com.

Freshwater

Falls Lake

Largemouth bass are biting at medium to deeper depths on Carolina rigs, crank baits and spinner baits. Crappie have been caught at medium depths around brushpiles and structures on minnows and jigs. Catfish are still biting nightcrawlers early in the morning. Water level is normal 251.5, Wednesday 251.53, full pool 264.8. Contact: Outhouse Tackle 919-847-1222; wmi.org.

Jordan Lake

Crappie are the only fish being reported and they’re biting red worms. Water level: normal 216, Wednesday 216.21, full pool 240. Contact: Wilsonville General Store 919-362-7101; crappie.com.

Kerr Lake

Largemouth bass are biting worms on spinner baits and crank baits at medium depths. Crappie have been caught on jigs around the docks and structures. Catfish are biting nightcrawlers in the morning and evening. Water level: normal 300, Wednesday 299.9, full pool 320. Contact: Bobcat’s Bait and Tackle, 434-374-8381; kerrlake.com.

Shearon Harris Lake

Largemouth bass are still schooling. They’re biting topwater baits at medium depths. Crappie are biting minnows at medium to deeper depths. Contact: The Tackle Box, 919-557-8255; wmi.org.
