Canada, Buttinger victorious

Duke forward Jessica Buttinger tallied the winning goal to send Canada to a 5-1 victory over Russia on Friday in 13-16 placement play at the 2013 ERGO Hockey Junior World Cup in Monchengladbach, Germany.

Women’s golf

Duke sophomore Celine Boutier played her final five holes at two-under-par en route to carding a second-straight round of even-par, 72, as she made the cut at the Ricoh Women’s British Open at the St. Andrews Old Course in Scotland.


Fayetteville State’s Michael Johnson and Colon Bailey, Jr. were named to the 25th Annual USA College Football Division II Preseason All-American Teams. Johnson was placed on the First Team for defense at the free safety position. Bailey Jr. earned Second Team accolades for offense as a running back.
