Julian W. Hughes: Give change a chance

Give change a chance

For years, all governments, local, state and national, have been in trouble financially. All are in debt and getting further in debt all the time. Everyone says that hard decisions have to be made, and we must all sacrifice.

Hard decisions are now being made in Raleigh and to read the letters from the liberals, one would think that the people in North Carolina are being treated as the Jews in Germany were treated.

I am not overjoyed with all of the changes being made, but I’m willing to give them a try. Things can’t get a whole lot worse than they are now. I have been on a fixed income since 1995 (when gas was $0.79 per gallon) and I will be hurt, but as I said, give it a chance.
