Ex-NC State shooter Wood signs in Spain; Schedule changes for Duke women's soccer

Scott Wood, the most prolific 3-point shooter in N.C. State men’s basketball history, signed a contract with UCAM Murcia in Spain. Wood spent this past summer playing on the Los Angeles Clippers’ summer league team.

The 6-foot-6 Wood finished his Wolfpack career as the school’s all-time leader with 334 made 3-pointers. He also holds the school record for games started in a career (136). Wood scored 1,467 career points for the Wolfpack, ranking 18th in school history.

Duke: Coach Robbie Church announced schedule changes for the upcoming 2013 season.

In the UNC Nike Classic, the Blue Devils now face New Mexico on Sept. 1 at noon in Chapel Hill.

Another change is for the Duke Nike Classic on Sept. 6 and 8 at Koskinen Stadium in Durham. Duke plays the first game on Sept. 6 against West Virginia, which starts at 6 p.m., followed by North Carolina-UCLA at 8. To close the tournament on Sept. 8, West Virginia faces North Carolina at 11 a.m., and Duke hosts UCLA at 1 p.m.

Duke’s only other change is Pittsburgh on Oct. 27. Start time is now 1 p.m., because it will be aired live on RSN-TV and ESPN3.
