Statistically speaking: What small businesses spend on travel

The average small-business traveler buys almost 37 percent more airline tickets per quarter than a traveler from a larger company, according to the 2013 Expense IQ report from Concur, a business travel and expense management firm. Here are other report findings:

$143 What small-business travelers spend on average on car rentals each quarter, compared to $91 for large businesses.

$136 What travelers from small and mid-sized businesses pay on average per night for lodging.

$94 What travelers from large businesses pay for lodging, likely because of negotiating favorable rates.

$832 What small-business travelers pay per quarter on average for airfare, compared to $732.59 for large businesses.
