Robert Dalton: In the know

In the know

In an Aug. 14 letter, Sen. Phil Berger, in defending his party’s education budget, attacked what he called dishonest special interest groups, and he called as a “union” a group that I think he meant as the N.C. Association of Educators.

Well, Berger would know dishonesty and special interests when he sees them. He knows full well that the NCAE is not a union, at least not by any reasonable definition. Moreover, he willingly serves the goals of special interests such as the N.C. Chamber of Commerce, the American Legislative Exchange Council and Dallas Woodhouse’s Americans for Prosperity.
