Not amused

Thanks to the General Assembly, in January we will have more money to start each month because our income taxes will be less. But we will probably end each month with the same amount. Why? We are going to be nickeled and dimed on items we haven’t paid taxes on before.

Movie tickets, sporting events and other entertainment activities will have a new 7.5 percent tax added and increased taxes on utilities.

At least those of us buying a new yacht or plane will be spared any additional tax expense, thanks to Thom Tillis, Phil Berger, Pat McCrory and, of course, Art Pope.
