Body discovered near Lake Johnson greenway in Raleigh

Police are investigating the death of a person who was discovered Saturday morning near a greenway in southwest Raleigh.

Emergency responders were called to a greenway near Lake Johnson park around 8:15 a.m., Raleigh Police spokesman Jim Sughrue said in a news release. They have ruled the death was a suicide.

There was no other information immediately available; Sughrue said police have not yet notified the person's next of kin.
