Scouts collect home items

August 25, 2013

Girl Scouts from Troop 326 in Raleigh worked together to earn their Bronze Award, the highest possible achievement for Juniors, who are in fourth and fifth grades, and the third-highest award for Girl Scouts overall.

Among the Scouts earning their Bronze Awards were Evanna Edward, Riley Houser, Elena Kelly, Rachael Kluge, Amara Lockett, Sydney McIntyre, Kelly Thomas and Sarah Timin.

The girls orchestrated donation drives at their two elementary schools, Leesville Road and Sycamore Creek, for food and household items for Haven House, a Raleigh nonprofit that helps struggling kids and families. The troop collected more than 700 food and household items from the drives.
