Florida State, which is looking to become the ACCs first team to win three consecutive volleyball league titles since North Carolina completed the feat in 1999-2001, was tabbed as the unanimous preseason favorite in a vote by the leagues 15 head coaches.
North Carolina picked up 178 points for second place, with Miami (169), Notre Dame (153) and NC State (133) completing the top five. Dukes 126 points put it in sixth.
Wes Roach, a 2011 Duke graduate, fired a 13-under 271 to finish tied for 16th at the Cox Classic, the Web.com Tours final regular-season event. The top 20 finish helped propel Roach into the top 25 of the tour's money list and secure his PGA Tour membership card for the 2013-14 season.
Roach enters the Web.com Tour Playoffs, a four-week stretch that includes the Hotel Fitness Championship (Aug. 29-Sept. 1 in Fort Wayne, Ind.), Chiquita Classic (Sept. 5-8 in Davidson), Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship (Sept. 12-15 in Columbus, Ohio) and the Web.com Tour Championship (Sept. 26-29 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.).
