From staff reportsAugust 29, 2013

— Police charged a Zebulon man with assault with a deadly weapon after a shooting incident outside an East Millbrook Road convenience store Wednesday night.

Asim Kali Brock High, 26, of 260 W. Vance St. was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and damage to personal property.

Arrest warrants allege that High shot Terry Labrone Williams when the two were outside the Fast Fare store at 2401 E. Millbrook Road and that bullets hit Williams’ Ford Explorer.

Williams was not believed to have been seriously hurt.

Police said neither man was connected with the Fast Fare, and it was unclear why the dispute happened there.

Detectives charged High early Thursday.

High was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail for a court appearance Thursday.
