Frank Weedon, the former N.C. State assistant athletic director, has died, the university confirmed Tuesday.
Weedon, 82, had been in declining health in recent years.
Weedon held an administrative post in the athletics department for 23 years and worked as the Pack's sports information director for 12 years.
A native of Washington, D.C., Weedon served as the Pack's SID from 1960 through 1972. He came to State after serving as the assistant director of the Lehigh News Bureau from 1958-60.
Weedon earned his B.A. degree in journalism at Maryland in 1955.
