Regarding the Sept. 6 news article “DHHS adviser paid $228K”: I am simply furious by the addition of this “senior adviser” to the McCrory administration. He will have earned $310,000 in nine months. We are assured that his advice has saved the department $5 million, but we are not told how these savings will occur. Somehow, the assurance “without reduction in services rendered” rings hollow.
This department is, after all, health and human services. Where else would the savings come from if not the health of North Carolina humans?
