Lena Parrish: Wave of the future

Wave

of the future

I have read all the commentaries from readers blasting Gov. Pat McCrory for hiring two 24-year-olds to be advisers at DHHS. As a 65-year-old, I feel these bright young people are taking their rightful places in the job market.

The ones I worry about are the career politicians and others in their 70s and 80s who are still holding their positions even though they know as well as I do, if they are honest, they are not as sharp mentally and physically as they were when they were elected or put into their high-paying jobs.

It’s time for older people to accept the fact that the future belongs to these young people. We made our share of mistakes. Let them make theirs.
