Player of the week: Nyheim Hines of Garner scored seven touchdowns during the first three quarters of a 58-10 victory over Broughton. He rushed for 268 yards and four touchdowns, had 163 yards in receptions and threw a 40-yard touchdown pass. Quarterback Brighton Hudson completed 11 of 12 passes for 326 yards and four touchdowns.

Play of the week: Give the ball to Love. Bryce Love scored on runs of 50, 13 and 89 yards and returned a kickoff 85 yards for another score in Wake Forest’s 48-14 win against Cary. Love had only four rushes, but he piled up 165 yards rushing.

Shawn Stankavage, Cardinal Gibbons: Rushed for two touchdowns and passed for two in a 49-21 win against Ravenscroft.

Payton Pappas, Cedar Ridge: Completed 20 of 34 passes for 322 yards in a 24-21 loss to East Chapel Hill.

Luke Massei, Green Hope: Passed for four touchdowns in a 46-8 win against Durham Jordan.

John Politis, Athens Drive: Completed 26 of 32 passes for 207 yards in a 28-26 win against Lee County. Teammate Dominique Lynch scored four touchdowns.

Jeriko Styles, Sanderson: Rambled for 186 yards in a 17-14 victory over Apex.

Trai Sharp, Carrboro: Rushed for 212 yards in a 29-28 win against Chapel Hill.

Reid Thomas, Cary Christian: Caught three passes for 159 yards and three touchdowns in a 22-6 win against St. David’s.

Sean Bowman, South Granville: Rushed for 177 yards in a 42-0 win against Oxford Webb.

Grant Deselm, Chapel Hill: Completed 22 of 41 passes for 245 yards in a 29-28 loss to Carrboro.

Brant Grisel, Middle Creek: Passed for 230 yards in a 46-14 win against Smithfield-Selma.

Aaron Farmer, Cleveland: Ran for 152 yards and passed for 121 yards in a 30-23 victory over West Johnston.
