George Gates: Berger’s chutzpah

Berger’s chutzpah

Regarding the Sept. 9 Under the Dome item “Berger TV ad looks like a Senate campaign”: Sen. Phil Berger has the chutzpah to tout passage of the elections bill? That’s a bit like encircling the entire neighborhood with an electrified fence and concertina wire, then proudly claiming that it guards us from the wild rhinoceros herds. So I should be grateful for the protection?

Gosh, I’d like to thank Berger for keeping all those dangerous seniors, students, minorities and poor folks away from the polls. I don’t know what we’d have done without his voter suppression efforts!
