'Rocky Top' is our third 'Bluegrass for Beginners' song

And we’re on to the third installent of our pre-IBMA “Bluegrass for Beginners” countdown -- “Rocky Top,” composed by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, the songwriting team responsible for most of the Everly Brothers’ catalog. “Rocky Top” fondly recalls a bucolic Tennessee paradise, and it’s probably best-known nowadays as the University of Tennessee’s fight song. But the Osborne Brothers, who recorded the first version in 1967, own it.
