The DHHS plan
With respect to the new DHHS director’s hiring someone and paying him big bucks to uncover more efficient ways of running the department (Sept. 7 news story), I would suspect that there are many knowledgeable, current employees who work there who could teach her a thing or two about how to improve DHHS – and for free. Why not ask employees who work within the system everyday how to improve the process?
However, it may be hard now to find someone who is willing to speak up since workers now can be fired for no cause. But maybe this was the plan from the beginning, in order to open up positions for campaign supporters.
