Liz Upton: Serving up scorn

Serving up scorn

I was highly offended by the Sept. 6 letter “McEmployment” calling McDonald’s workers “uneducated.” Perhaps many don’t have college degrees, but that makes them no less worthy of earning a decent living for their families.

If the letter-writer’s gripe is really about how little teachers get paid, then maybe she should start lobbying Republican representatives who cut education funding. I agree teachers make too little but don’t insult fast food workers to make the point. They have every right to be respected as well.

And if my Big Mac costs a little more, then, oh, well.
