Mrs. Patrick Joseph O'Connor

Ellen Bracey Mann and Patrick Joseph O’Connor were married September 14, 2013 at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Reverend Douglas James Monroe, uncle of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hill Mann of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russel Lee Mann, and of Mrs. Charles Marion McBryde and the late Mr. McBryde, all of Sanford, North Carolina.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Francis O’Connor of Richmond, Virginia. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Anthony O’Connor, formerly of West Hartford, Connecticut, and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Francis Joseph Liebrich, formally of Chicago, Illinois.

The bride was escorted by her father. Sister of the bride, Katherine Ramsey Mann, of Charlotte, North Carolina, served as maid of honor, and Elizabeth Mann Smith, cousin of the bride, of Raleigh, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Anderson Winstead Gardner, Sydney McDaniel Jamison, Eve Stasios Pedersen, all of Raleigh; Jennifer Dukes Jarvis and Carroll Smith Sponheimer, both of Stamford, Connecticut.

Brother of the groom, Timothy Edward Kiefer of Midlothian, Virginia, served as best man. Groomsmen were Ashley Montgomery Gillenwater of Louisville, Kentucky; Michael Clinton Hanky of Richmond; Ryan Thomas McKinney Kane of St. Louis, Missouri; Alston Hill Mann, brother of the bride, of Dallas, Texas; Matthew Thomas Maloney of Scranton, Pennsylvania and Daniel Thomas Ryan, junior of Western Springs, Illinois. Ushers were Kevin Michael Burke of Atlanta, Georgia; Christopher Mack Kiefer of Midlothian; John Francis Kiefer of Clifton, Virginia and James Andrew Smith of Raleigh.

Madeline Grace Kiefer, niece of the groom, of Richmond, served as the flower girl, and Johnathan Rives Smith, cousin of the bride, of Raleigh served as the ring bearer. Scripture readers were sisters of the groom, Colleen Kiefer Cress and Camryn O’Connor Carleton, both of Richmond. The program attendants were Constance Carrington Clark and Willoughby Easton Clark, and the guest book attendant was Helen Havens Clark, all nieces of the groom, of Richmond. Music was provided by organist David Witt and Boylan Bridge Brass. Mrs. Frank Brown directed the wedding.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Pavilion at the Angus Barn. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Carolina Country Club.

The bride is a graduate of Ravenscroft School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority.

The groom is a graduate of Benedictine High School and Villanova University. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.

Following a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
