Leigh Franklin Keyser & William Christopher Miller were united in marriage Saturday, August 10, in a 6 p.m. ceremony at St. James Plantation Woodlands Park and Amphitheater in Southport, NC.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Fredrick Leonard Keyser III of Raleigh. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Carey Miller III of Raleigh.
The Rev. Dr. Susie Durkin officiated at the double ring ceremony. Dockside Strings Quartet provided the music at the ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of ivory, white, and silver tulle and satin. The a-line gown was a strapless bodice embellished with delicate embroidery and accented with Swarovski crystals and pearls. The modified bell skirt was cascaded with Swarovski crystals and pearls and extended to a full chapel train. Her cathedral length veil was of ivory tulle. She carried a cascade bouquet of stargazer blossoms, hot pink tulips, and peach gladiola blooms.
Caroline Faith Ellison of Raleigh, was maid-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Alexis Miller, sister of the bridegroom; Jena Lauren Smith of Raleigh, Ashley Suzette Holloman of Pine Level, NC; Mallory Dickens Compton of Washington, NC; and Ashley Faye Miller of Apex, NC.
They wore chiffon gowns of Alfred Angelo with cocktail length skirts and loosely fitted bodices, with a one shoulder neckline. The maid-of-honor carried a bouquet of nosegay consisting of five large white calla lilies surrounding a single stargazer bloom. The other bridesmaids carried bouquet’s of nosegay’s consisting of five large white calla lilies.
Ring bearer was Mr. Graham Gilmer of Summerville, SC, the bridegroom’s cousin.
Greeters were Sarah Kathleen Smith of Raleigh; Kelley Urban Magowen of Raleigh; and Chelsea Jo Mauldin of Concord, NC. They wore corsages of hot pink gladiolus, pink wax flower, and an Italian Ruscus.
The bridegroom had his father, William Carey Miller III of Raleigh, as best man. Groomsmen were Robert Wells Keyser, brother of the bride; Michael Nathaniel Hicks, cousin of the bride; Justin David Filipowski of Wake Forest, NC; Colby Nelson Griffin of Edenton, NC; and Matthew Leonard Skiles of Raleigh.
The bride’s parents hosted a reception at the St. James Plantation Members Club following the ceremony.
The bridegroom’s parents entertained with a dinner party on Friday night at the St. James Plantation Founder’s Club following the wedding rehearsal.
A bridesmaid’s brunch was held at the St. James Plantation Reserve Club Saturday morning. Hostess was Mrs. Fredrick Leonard Keyser III, the bride’s mother. Approximately 17 guests attended.
The couple has made their home in Raleigh after a weeklong honeymoon in Antigua.
