Raleigh 12-year-olds hurt in bike crash with car

— A boy and girl, both 12, were taken to WakeMed hospital Saturday evening after a crash in Raleigh involving a car and the bike they were riding. The male rider remained hospitalized Sunday, hospital officials said.

Just after 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Raleigh police officers responded to a call to the intersection of Pine Knoll Drive and Manhasset Lane about the accident, which involved a 2000 Honda Accord. The riders, Ariana Mack and Cameron Clarkson-Blake, were transported to WakeMed. Mack was treated and released, while Clarkson-Blake remained in critical condition Sunday, a hospital spokesman said.

Officers were investigating the crash investigation Sunday and police did not expect to complete a report on the incident until Monday Staff Reports
