Try Transit Week: Free rides Thursday on CAT, C-Tran buses

From staff reportsSeptember 16, 2013

Raleigh’s CAT buses and Cary’s C-Tran buses will offer free trips for bicycle riders Tuesday – and free trips for everybody Thursday.

Transit agencies across the Triangle are promoting Try Transit Week through Friday in a drive to boost the region’s public transportation options. The free trips are offered only in Raleigh and Cary.

On Tuesday, the bus ride is free for anybody who rides a bike to a CAT or C-Trans bus stop. All CAT and C-Tran buses are fare-free on Thursday.

Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Cameron Village, CAT’s “Stuff the Bus” effort will collect canned-food donations for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Anyone who donates three or more cans of food will get a free Chick-fil-A sandwich.
