Larry Brooks: They’ll get IDs somehow

They’ll get IDs

There seems to be a great deal of concern about the new voter ID law disenfranchising and suppressing voter turnout of minority and poor voters. This, according to critics, is because of their inability to obtain a photo ID, even though free voter IDs will be available at all state DMVs effective Jan. 1.

Critics say many minorities and the poor have no transportation to get to a DMV office. If this is true, how are these same people going to be able to use the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare? Obamacare was enacted to help these very same people. However, every doctor’s office requires a photo ID before treatment.

I’m sure with government-subsidized health care available at doctors’ offices requiring a photo ID, minorities and the poor will find a way to get one.
