Continuing on to the eighth selection in our pre-IBMA Bluegrass for Beginners countdown, we have Roll in My Sweet Babys Arms, which was originally a 1930s-vintage Monroe Brothers tune. Lester Flatt recast it, and scored a hit with Flatt & Scruggs Foggy Mountain Boys in 1951 (it was also a hit for Buck Owens 20 years later). Roll is another classic bluegrass breakdown, fast and clean.
