Raleigh man faces statutory rape charges involving 15-year-old girl

— A 30-year-old Raleigh man who lives at a shelter for the homeless was being held on $1.5 million bail Wednesday on three charges of statutory rape involving a 15-year-old girl.

Jimmy Frederick Young, 30, was arrested Tuesday afternoon after questioning at the Downtown District police station.

His address is listed on an arrest report as 1420 S. Wilmington St., the Wake County men’s shelter.

An arrest warrant listed no permanent address.

According to the warrants, the incidents happened in the first two weeks of this month.

Police said Young had become acquainted with the girl before the alleged rapes.

Walker was scheduled for a court appearance Wednesday afternoon.
