PlayMakers Repertory Company opens its main stage season this week with the regional premiere of “The Mountaintop,” Katori Hall’s imagining of Martin Luther King Jr.’s last night before his assassination. In his Memphis motel, King engages in conversation with the maid, turning into an evening of hilarious and heartbreaking dialog and eventually moving into unsuspected territory.
