Accident hampers I-40 eastbound in Wake County

Most eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 at Harrison Avenue had reopened Saturday morning after an accident involving a tractor-trailer and a bus, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

All of I-40 East near Exit 287 was blocked for part of the morning, according to the NCDOT. One lane remained closed and was not expected to reopen until 1 p.m. to allow emergency responders time to clear the scene and investigate the accident.

More information about the accident was not immediately available.
