Christie Jiang of Cary, a student at the N.C. School of Science and Mathematics in Durham, was named a state winner of the 2013 Stockholm Junior Water Prize competition.
Her project, titled “Chitosan-modified Cellulose as Adsorbent to Collect and Reuse Nitrate from Groundwater,” went on to the national competition in Oregon in June.
