Lee S. Downie: Stinking new laws

Stinking new laws

The Sept. 14 N&O once again brought unpleasant news from state government.

In the news story “Police review state’s new ‘save the gun’ law.” we learned that local police are no longer allowed to destroy guns seized or confiscated after being used (presumably) in the commission of a crime.

In the Around the Triangle & State item “Lottery to offer subscription for online service,” we learned that we can soon buy lottery tickets over the Internet by subscription.

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark? No, something is rotten in Raleigh.
