Mrs. Michael Allen Murphy

Margaret Elizabeth Meeker and Michael Allen Murphy were married on September 21, 2013, at half past 5 o'clock in the evening at Daniel Memorial Chapel, Furman University, in Greenville, SC. The Reverend Joseph Cate officiated the ceremony. A reception followed at Younts Conference Center.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Roger Meeker of Chapel Hill, and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Archibald Boren and the late Mr. and Mrs. Chester Charles Meeker. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History at Furman University and a Masters degree in mental health counseling at Clemson University. She is an employment counselor at United Ministries in Greenville.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Murphy of Simpsonville. A graduate of University of South Carolina Upstate, he is employed at Baldor Electric Company, a member of the ABB Group, in Greenville.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Maryann Helen Driscoll was maid of honor; bridesmaids were Bridget Kinard Walter, Theresa Leigh Ramey, Jessie Caroline Ninestein and Christi Hollingsworth Cannon. Flower girls were the groom's nieces, Emma Elizabeth, Meredith Adleigh and Allie Clara Brown.

The groom's father, Mr. Jack Murphy, was best man. Groomsmen were Robert Boren Meeker, brother of the bride, Jason Louis Ashe, Christopher Longino, Eric Scott McCreery and Martin Dale Salisbury. Music was provided by Charles Tompkins, organist, and Deirdre Sutton, violinist. After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Greenville, SC.
