Morrisville police charge Durham man with heroin trafficking

From Staff ReportsSeptember 24, 2013

— Police arrested a man from Durham on Monday night at a hotel near RDU Airport and charged him with heroin possession and trafficking.

Barry Drew Inscoe Jr., 42, of 1221 N. Mineral Springs Road was in his car outside the Extended Stay America hotel at 2700 Slater Road when police arrested him shortly before 9 p.m., according to an arrest report.

Arrest warrants charge that Inscoe had 15 grams of heroin in a Marlboro cigarette box.

Police charged Inscoe with heroin trafficking, heroin possession with intent to sell or distribute it, maintaining a 2001 Dodge Intrepid as a place to keep or sell drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrest report does not make clear whether Inscoe was in the hotel parking lot or in the building when arrested.

A second warrant charged Inscoe with heroin trafficking and possession on Sept. 17 and possession of plastic for packaging small quantities og Heroin.

At that time, police said, Inscoe had 25 grams of heroin.

State law says that police can file a heroin trafficking charge if someone has 4 or more grams of the drug.

Inscoe was being held Tuesday at the Wake County Detention Center in lieu of $500,000 bail and was scheduled for an afternoon court appearance.
