Man shot in leg at Durham shopping center

— A man was shot in the leg Wednesday night while he was in the parking lot of the Phoenix Square Shopping Center at 806 Fayetteville St., police said.

The man was taken to Duke University Hospital, and police said the thigh wound did not appear to be life-threatening.

The shooting happened about 8 p.m.

The man fled into a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in the center, where police found him.

Police did not say if they had any suspects in the incident, but they asked anyone with information about it to call CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200.
