From staff reportsSeptember 26, 2013

— A Westerly, R.I., man was arrested by Raleigh police Wednesday on charges of trafficking in the party drug known as ecstasy and possession of its powder form, widely known as Molly.

David Matthew Lowe, 36, told police he was a self-employed musician when they arrested him at a house on Ashebrook Drive.

Police said Lowe had 330 dosage units of MDMA, the drug known as ecstasy and other names, that led to two counts of trafficking, one for having it and one for transporting it.

An arrest warrant also charged Lowe with possession with intent to sell or distribute a drug, and that charge cited 30 dossage units of MDMA and 14 grams of Molly.

Lowe was being held at the Wake County Detention Center in lieu of $75,000 bail for a court appearance Thursday afternoon.
