Sarah Whitley Raynes and Hirsh Sandesara were married Saturday, June 1, 2013 at five o'clock in the evening at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church in Raleigh, NC. The Reverend Richard M. Clayton officiated. A reception, hosted by the parents of the bride, followed at The Pavilions at the Angus Barn.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Alan Raynes of Raleigh, NC. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Thaddeus Woodard of Raleigh, NC, and Mrs. Marilyn Macpherson and the late Dr. Harry Raynes of Santa Barbara, CA.

The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Kalyan Sandesara of Glenview, IL. He is the grandson of Mrs. Chandrakanta Sandesara and the late Dr. Bhogilal Sandesara of Gujarat, India, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Kantilal Parikh of Gujarat, India.

The bride is a 2006 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. She is a 2009 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law. She works as a prosecutor in Greensboro, NC.

The groom is a 2006 graduate of Duke University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Public Policy. He is a 2012 graduate of Harvard Business School. He is a 2013 graduate of the Duke University School of Medicine. He works as a resident emergency medicine physician at Duke University Hospital.

After a honeymoon in the British Virgin Islands, the couple resides in Durham.
