Wake Forest retains the top position in The N&O high school football rankings, but four teams, including Garner and Leesville Road, both formerly ranked No. 1, exit.

Leesville was No. 1 two weeks ago, but has dropped two games since standout Braxton Berrios left the lineup with an ankle injury.

Garner, No. 1 in the preseason, was soundly beaten by East Wake (2-3 overall) last week 54-40 and earlier in the year lost to Cleveland (3-2), 45-44.

Moving into the top 15 this week are one-loss Heritage, Clayton and Cardinal Gibbons.
