Mother surrenders to police after abducting 2 sons from Durham school

— A woman is charged with felony abduction of children after taking her two sons from Hillandale Elementary School Tuesday morning.

Selma Diaz, 46, does not have legal custody of the two boys, who were last seen Tuesday morning in the school parking lot.

Daniel Isai Banegas Diaz, 6, and Jeremias Isaac Banegas Diaz, 5, were unharmed and with their mother when she turned herself into the Carrboro Police Department Tuesday evening, according to Durham police spokeswoman Kammie Michael.
