Man shot, car stolen outside Raleigh apartments

— A man was shot and his car was stolen Tuesday night outside a residential building on Dansey Drive, off Louisburg Road in Raleigh, police said.

The man was taken to WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, police said, but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Offficers found the man outside in the 4700 block of Dansey when they arrived, police spokesman Jim Sughrue said.

They had been dispatched at 10:47 p.m.

The incident did not appear to be related to recent incidents in Raleigh and in unincorporated Wale County in which people were accosted at gunpoint and made to drive to ATMs to get money or had their cars taken.
