McCrimmon Parkway reopens after gas leak in Cary

— A stretch of McCrimmon Parkway has reopened after being closed this morning because of a gas leak.

The parkway was closed between Lake Grove Boulevard and Davis Drive at about 10:15 a.m. after workers accidentally severed the gas line. It was reopened by 2 p.m.

Several townhouses near the site were evacuated, but no one was injured.

Police from Morrisville and Cary were redirecting traffic.
