The American Tobacco Campus hosts state-of-the-art bluegrass Friday night with Russell Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out.

COURTESY OF ANTHONY LADD

For those not sated from Raleigh’s five-day World of Bluegrass extravaganza – or for those unable to attend that event – the American Tobacco Campus hosts state-of-the-art bluegrass Friday night with Russell Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out. The popular combo holds seven consecutive Vocal Group of the Year trophies, while lead singer/guitarist Russell Moore has been voted top male vocalist an impressive five times. Known for a capella harmonies on such non-bluegrass favorites as the Platters’ “Only You,” as well as gospel and hard-charging traditional ’grass, the band’s latest CD is a collection of favorites on the Cracker Barrel Label. Local up-and-coming favorites Mipso will also perform. For directions, see americantobaccohistoricdistrict.com.
