Cape Lookout/Bogue Inlet
Offshore wahoo fishing has been excellent. Dolphin fishing has been fair. Scattered billfish biting along the coast. Bluefish and spanish mackerel have been reported biting on the beaches. Topsail Island
Spanish mackerel, bluefish and albacore are biting at the surf and off the pier. Pompano have also been present. Speckle trout have been reported along the surf. Wilmington/ Wrightsville Beach
Fall pattern fishing is beginning. Redfish are biting from the intercoastal waterway to the surf. Bluefish are also biting in the surf. Speckle trout and flounder fishing are also good from the near shore to the intercoastal waterway. King mackerel and spanish mackerel are biting offshore. Southport/Sunset Beach

Falls Lake
Bass fishing is inconsistent, they’re being found 8 to 15 feet deep along the creek or in the main lake. Bass are hitting jigs, spinnerbait and shakey head worm. Crappie are holding 12 to 16 feet deep on brush piles and hitting minnows. One- to 3-pound catfish are biting on night crawlers and chicken liver. White bass are schooling where the creek enters the main lake, hitting blade bait and spinners. Water level: normal 251.5, Wednesday 250.91, full pool 264.8. Jordan Lake

Strokers are biting early in the evening topwater off live bait. Catfish are also biting in small numbers. Crappie fishing is picking up off brush 10-25 feet deep. Shearon Harris Lake
