Wayne Glenn: Remember the people

Remember the people

If we are to believe all the commercials and ads of the insurance industry through its surrogates and the hue and cry from tea party Republicans about the evils of Obamacare, then we must be inclined to look at our current system.

Remember our current system? The system that requires that my family doctor be the emergency room or that my employer keep me permanently part-time so I can’t get health insurance? Or the one that lets my insurance company decide not to pay for the drug that has proven to be effective because it has another drug it can get cheaper?

Remember the current system in which the health of the profit margin is more important than the health of premium payers?

Remember the good old days? Well, those who don’t remember or who don’t know because they have not lost a job or had an expensive disease should know there is a difference between caring about politics and people.

We need for our politicians to care less about political rhetoric and more about we the people. Remember us, we the people?
