GARNER — A woman who was killed when her car became stuck on railroad tracks in Garner and was struck by a train Friday night has been identified.
Garner police said Robin Downes Mozafaripour, 59, of Raleigh was the motorist killed in the incident.
Police said she was driving east on Garner Road and turned right onto Vandora Springs Road, where she ran off the road and became stuck on the tracks about 9:44 p.m. A westbound Amtrak train headed toward Raleigh collided with the car.
The woman was the only occupant of the car, police said. She was driving a 2012 Kia Soul.
